Click for a map in a new window Piccadilly is the big pink road bisecting the map. The two points of interest here are a) on the south/east side, a few doors west of St James Church (hit the green arrow on the right) is the entrance to BAFTA and b) the Athenaeum, which is right at the other end on the opposite side, pretty close to where the 'A4' is written. This map reference should point close to the location of the Curzon, Mayfair cinema. A few yards north east takes you to the Mirabelle (it's near where Curzon Street does a sharp turn). You might also like to note that you are very close to Clarges Street - and number seven is the address given by Patrick O'Brian, where Stephen Maturin visited Mrs Villiers, just before she was 'detained' for suspicion of espionage. If you start at the Mirabelle( I couldn't get the arrow to pinpoint it !), you may also like to note that If you carry on westwards you will reach Park Lane. Head north up there and you will hit the Dorchesterfirst, followed by the Grosvenor House Hotel. Try not to get yourself killed crossing over for a walk in the park. If the weather is fine, you could take in the Serpentine Gallery ( if you're a fan of Gilbert and George)or just a walk around the Italian fountains. I suggest you do this towards the end of your day because you can end up on Bayswater Road, and those of you staying in Shepherds Bush, or indeed heading for the Walkabout, can catch a bus to take you all the way.
